Saint Jude Retreats is a non-12 step alternative to traditional rehab services. The Programs taught at Saint Jude’s are unlike any other drug and alcohol program available today, and helps people overcome drugs and alcohol through proven methods that educate the individual on strategies for self-control, person responsibility and the power of free will and choice. Desert Hope is the latest addition to the American Addiction Centers family. This gorgeous treatment oasis in the heart of Las Vegas has 148 beds (52 for women and 96 for men). With two floors, three wings on each floor and nurses’ stations located in each wing, the facility also includes a serenity room, gym, massage area, 5-star chef, complimentary housekeeping. Desert Hope offers evidenced-based clinical and medical programming and an integrated systemic approach to addiction and emotional/behavioral health issues. Its program, which lasts from 30-90 days depending on each individual’s needs, strongly focuses on trauma, maladaptive behavioral health issues and the tranquility and enlightenment of the 12 steps through its own 12-step walk. Traditional therapies, including group, family and individual, are offered, as well as recovery-oriented challenge therapy, expressive therapies and EMDR. Individual sessions are offered at least twice per week. Our evidence-based, peer-reviewed curriculum, Embracing Change: Recovery for Life, provides the framework for didactic groups. Utilizing a Motivational Interviewing base, this curriculum helps individuals learn about co-occurring disorders, coping strategies, relationships and family dynamics, and the principles of peer support groups. Throughout the curriculum, many opportunities are provided for clients to apply and reflect upon the provided information. Nutritional/wellness education, lectures with the Medical Director (Addictionologist/Psychiatrist) and medical staff, life skills training and reading groups about Michael Cartwright’s 5 Essential Elements are provided. A family program developed by Wayne Raiter, MA, LICSW, which offers education and group process services/therapy to individuals and their loved ones, is also featured. The Academy understands the problematic nature of adolescent substance abuse and recovery. We provide males and females ages 13-17 PHP and IOP services with Community Housing tailored to the needs of younger clients. Because their brains are still in development, adolescents require programming that addresses academics, family, peer relationships and all areas of their life as they continue to grow and mature. Our staff includes licensed psychologists and therapists, medical doctors and more. We provide 24/7 supervision and crisis management. Admission involves several comprehensive assessments, including medical, substance abuse and psychiatric evaluations. Clients are assigned individual therapists and case managers with whom they begin to develop ongoing treatment plans working toward discharge planning. Our goal is to make the transition back to school as smooth as possible. Within our educational component we work with various academic settings and require family participation and support. We also encourage clients to improve their physical fitness and team skills through personal and physical training. Clients may also participate in yoga, walking trails and fitness groups each Saturday morning. Our registered dietitian provides nutritional assessments and services. The Academy is located in an equestrian community. We have a working relationship with a local equestrian farm that provides our clients the opportunity to engage in Equine Assisted Therapy to allow them to develop self-confidence while overcoming fears and building trust. Our therapists provide weekly individual sessions with clients and their families and our case mangers work with clients and their families to introduce healthy sober activities in their community, social support systems, 12-Step meetings, High School, GED or college classes and therapeutic appointments.

Leading Edge is located in the suburban town of Hamilton, NJ. We are state-licensed for Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Services and can provide off-site supportive housing for out-of-town clients. Clients can expect a co-ed experience with the exception of gender-specific groups with a 9:1 staff-to-client ratio. Clients are provided bio-psychosocial assessments, medical exams and psychiatric evaluations to assist in determining specific treatment needs. Primary counselors are assigned upon admission to guide clients through treatment. Private family sessions educate families on common family issues, i.e. denial, co-dependency and enabling. We also hold bi-weekly multi-family sessions with all clients and their families. In-house 12-Step oriented groups and structured recreational activities are also included in programming. Every night, clients participate in outside AA and NA meetings. Structured recreational activities also take place every weekend. Clients are instrumental in helping to choose fun and unique activities to promote sober social living such as paintball, laser tag, rock climbing and bowling. Forterus clients live in one of our 11 residential homes in Southern California. We have 10 homes in Murrieta, where we treat men and women, and one home in San Diego for men only. Both locations offer similar programs, though each location has specialized features. Our clinical model features a strong component of community integration. We encourage community-based activities as a means of additional support for all levels of care; studies support that the longer clients are engaged in treatment, the better their prognosis. Forterus provides 24/7 nursing staffed detoxification services during which time clients meet with a Medical Doctor, psychiatrist and licensed therapist for symptom management, withdrawal/medication stabilization and initial assessments.
