  • What success means to us
Success at Sovereign Health is creating a strong foundation for a long term recovery by providing in depth assessments, treatment plans, and a support system when discharging from treatment. The continuum of care and the patient using the tools learned in treatment will allow for the success of recovery. Sovereign Health is founded on evidence based treatment and believe that addiction and some mental health conditions are a brain disease, which means that in order to stay healthy and in remission, the patient must follow the treatment plan to stay on the recovery path and to be successful. We are able to track the progress of patients while they are in treatment by using cognitive testing tools that allow us to see their progress throughout the treatment program. The treatment team uses this information to see what treatments are working and what areas needs to be improved.

I talked to somebody on the phone at Sovereign Health, looked at the websites, saw beautiful beaches and decided it looked like a peaceful place. I started to learn about post-traumatic stress disorder at Lake Arrowhead. I have been here almost 7 months now and I do not regret it at all. As time went on, I realized how affected I really was. I needed long-term mental health help. A lot of the meditation is easier to do here. Once you leave, it is a whole different ball game. The longer that you are here, the more practice you get. That was what was helpful for me. There were different people with different issues in the program, and it got me out of my own head. It was definitely different, but I was very happy. I am grateful that I came into Sovereign’s mental health program. I would tell new patients to be grateful that you made it here. Do not listen to the negative people that might be coming through here. Everybody is negative at a certain stage of their recovery. The best thing I can recommend to anybody is to try to be positive as often as you can. It is not easy sometimes, but just making it here is a chance at turning your life around. I think the best anybody can do is believe that it is going to work if you want it to work. Whatever the issue is, you can get help. They have done a lot for me since I have been here. I am just grateful that I made it as far as I did.

I knew that I couldn’t get in control of my drug addiction, so my insurance agency directed me to Sovereign Health. When I arrived at Sovereign Health, I was surprised by how nice the facility was. My expectations were met to the fullest through the dual diagnosis treatment program. By living with others who were going through similar situations, we were able to help and encourage one another. Through the group therapy sessions, I was able to let others in and in turn able to understand my addiction more clearly. I have no complaints about Sovereign Health.
