Meeting Notes

You must remove your shoes to enter the studio. The format of this meeting is the reading of the AA preamble, a first reading on Step 11, silent meditation for 20 minutes, 7th Tradition instructions, a second reading on Step 11, then a round-robin discussion relating to problems with alcohol, and the spiritual solution to recovery. Late-comers will be asked to sit on the front steps so as not to disturb the 20 minutes of meditation. Please come on time. Bolsters and chairs will be provided.

Types of AA Meetings

11th Step Meditation: 11th Step Meditation is a spiritual-based stage in which members individually and collectively pray for greater strength to correct weaknesses and to make amends for injuries inflicted on others due to alcohol use disorder.

Discussion: AA discussion meetings in New York give all members the opportunity to speak on a specific topic related to alcoholism and recovery.
