Types of AA Meetings
Closed: In Indiana, closed AA meetings are restricted to members of AA or people looking to overcome alcohol addiction. Outside observers are not able to attend. Discussions cover a range of topics related to alcoholism and recovery.
Step Meeting: AA centers feature step meetings, based on the 12 Step program. In Indiana,clients read and compare their recovery to the stages in AA texts. The group then converse about ways to strengthen their progress.
Tradition Study: Tradition Study sessions are AA reflections about the organization. Members discuss how AA chapters can be more successful in their purpose through greater unity and its outreach programs.
