Types of AA Meetings
12 Steps & 12 Traditions: Oregon's AA embraces the 12 Steps and Traditions and provides a lifeline of support for individuals on their journey to sobriety. Meetings flexible, peer led, and offer a safe space for individuals and their loved ones to find the support they need.
Discussion: In Oregon, AA discussion meetings center on one specific subject associated with alcohol addiction and recovery. These subjects often derive from an AA text, such as the Big Book. Leaders will open by sharing the topic and giving their insights, and then others can join the conversation.
Fragrance Free: AA meetings that are fragrance free means that members are not allowed to wear perfumes, scented colognes or lotions, or to bring in clothing or air fresheners with fragrances. This ban is in consideration of members who may have sensitivities to artificial and chemical scents.
