Types of AA Meetings
Open: Open AA meetings in Vermont are available to anyone in the community. Attendees do not have to be members of the program to listen and observe. These meetings are open to alcoholics and nonalcoholics alke, including anyone who wants to learn more about AA to support a friend or loved one in their recovery journey.
Step Meeting: Vermont’s AA centers often feature step meetings in their schedules. Step meetings are part of the 12 Step Program, in which members evaluate their progress based on AA texts and make recommendations on how to elevate their recovery for the step and for future steps.
Wheelchair Access: In Vermont, non-ambulatory clients may attend their AA meetings. Centers provide wheelchair access with exterior ramps, designated parking, and open floor plans for safe navigation in meeting halls, restrooms, and amenities.
Women: Vermont AA meetings for women are women-only support group meetings for community members who are impacted by alcohol addiction - women who are suffering from alcohol addiction as well as those who have loved ones with alcoholism. Open for women of all ages to attend at no cost, these meetings offer peer support and are guided by a 12-step recovery program.
