Types of AA Meetings

Closed: In Nebraska, closed AA meetings are limited to AA members and people seeking help for alcoholism. Nonalcoholics and casual community observers are not permitted to attend. This provides a safe and welcoming space for individuals to share about their addictions, ask questions, and learn about AA’s recovery model.

Step Meeting: Step meetings are an essential part of AA programs in Nebraska. The group reads from AA texts like Twelve Steps, relate the stage to their own recovery, and strategize about ways to make their recovery stronger.

Women: Women’s AA meetings in Nebraska are community support meetings for women who are affected by alcohol addiction. Free to attend and open to all women, including women who are addicted to alcohol and those who have loved ones with alcohol addiction, these group meetings follow a 12-step recovery curriculum.
