Laguna, New Mexico AA Meetings

Laguna Pueblo is the most recently founded New Mexican pueblo, but is the largest of the Keresan-speaking pueblos and encompasses six individual villages. In many situations, your community can play an important role, including in your recovery from alcohol addiction. Joining a community established specifically to help people with alcohol addiction, like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), can enhance the support you receive from other communities, such as your family, friend groups, neighborhood, religious congregation, and formal treatment groups. AA does not provide official therapy or rehab, but is instead a gathering of peers who have the shared goal to stop using alcohol. Attending groups where you can process your struggles and successes with others who intimately understand the complex emotions and challenges of recovery can provide new insight, perspective, and approaches. AA is often used to enhance formal treatment. For example, AA can give you a confidential place to process what arises in family therapy sessions without censoring yourself in order to protect your family members.
