AA meetings are becoming increasingly popular all over the world and especially in the United States. These meetings have proven to be effective. The number of people with Alcohol Use Disorder(AUD) is increasing and more people have started seeking help. NY AA meetings offer a judgement free and open space for individuals who have acknowledged their situation and want to improve and better themselves. These meetings are held throughout the week, at different locations and have different approaches but they all serve the same purpose, which is to help the individuals heal and mend their lives. These meetings might happen openly which encourages speakers to tell their stories and this also allows for family members to attend the AA meetings when that happens. This helps the individuals become more comfortable to speak up on their own issues and also will provide support in the difficult times. AA meetings also happen in a closed setting and gender specific setting as well. This also helps the person who wants a more exclusive and private setting to feel comfortable to talk on their own issues.
