Cadiz, Ohio AA Meetings

Founded in 1803, Cadiz was named after Cádiz, an ancient port city in Spain. The village, which is located in Harrison County, Ohio, has a history of alcohol addiction. To help its residents who are suffering from the disease, Cadiz has Alcohol Anonymous meeting points in the village. Alcoholics Anonymous has proven to be one of the most effective forms of alcohol addiction treatment options. It has helped millions of people across the world overcome alcohol addiction. A key component of Alcohol Anonymous or AA is its famous 12-Steps and 12 Traditions program. The 12-Steps inspires its members to take ownership of their addiction, make amends for past mistakes, and take full responsibility for their recovery. Although not directly related to people’s sobriety per se, the “12 Traditions” of AA are the group-level counterpart of how healthy functioning can be encouraged by 12-Steps meetings and the larger 12-Steps organization. They consist essentially of 12 statements taken from early group interactions that form a blueprint for how groups can organize themselves. The 12 Traditions were conceived and registered to establish an accessible, adaptable model for countless other organic 12-Steps organizations to strive.
