Harlingen, Texas AA Meetings

Harlingen is located in Cameron County in South Texas. Several residents in the city are struggling with an addiction to alcohol. To provide support to them Harlingen AA meetings have been set up in the city. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an international fellowship that was founded by Dr. Bob Smith and Bill Wilson in 1935. The men, who overcame alcohol addiction, created the program to help other people across the world achieve sobriety. The pair later developed the popular 12 Steps method to govern its meetings and later established the 12 Traditions to bolster the purpose of AA. The 12 Steps encourages accountability and responsibility from its members. They are encouraged to admit that they have a drinking problem and make amends for it as well as other shortcomings in their lives. At a typical AA meeting members openly share their personal experiences during their addiction journey. Telling your addiction story to a room full of people can be extremely uncomfortable for some people. Going outside of your comfort zone to share intimate details of your drinking issues may bring second thoughts especially on your first visit. However, many people have found the open and honest discussions to be very beneficial to their recovery. Our website groups all AA Texas meetings.
