Types of AA Meetings
12 Steps & 12 Traditions: Rhode Island's AA programs are deeply rooted in the 12 Steps and Traditions and extend a warm invitation to those in recovery. Through peer and mentor-led meetings, individuals receive the support and guidance necessary for lasting change.
Literature: Rhode Island literature-led AA meetings are support meetings for people who are impacted by alcohol addiction, including those suffering from alcoholism and those who have loved ones addicted to alcohol. As part of a 12-step recovery program, these no-cost community meetings are based on the Big Book of AA and other literature by AA founders and leaders.
Open: In Rhode Island, open AA meetings allow both members and observers to attend. This includes individuals seeking help for alcohol addiction as well as anyone who wants to understand more about AA and its recovery program. Members can share their stories while observers are free to listen and learn.
