Brandon, Florida AA Meetings
Residents from Brandon, an unincorporated community in Hillsborough County, Florida, know the negative consequences and struggles associated with an addiction to alcohol. To provide support for those affected the census-designated place (CDP) has put in place Alcoholics Anonymous meeting points in the community. You can find these AA Brandon FL meetings as well as other AA meetings Florida on AlcoholicsAnonymous.com. Alcoholics Anonymous is non-discriminatory, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and nonprofessional. Its meetings are ready to accept and help anyone that is looking for support for their drinking issues. Its “open meetings” welcomes people who don’t necessarily have a drinking problem but want to observe or are relatives and friends of members. Open meetings are typical ‘speaker meetings’ where people tell their personal alcohol addiction stories. At these sessions, participants share their addiction experiences with others who likely are facing the same difficulties with alcohol addiction as well as discuss topics surrounding the disease. These discussions are typically based around a single topic that is selected by the leader of the meeting. Members then take turns weighing in on the topic. Some AA meetings have a particular objective such as ‘beginner meetings,’ where beginners are taught the basics of AA. At these meetings, prospective members receive one on one support or “sponsorship” from senior members.
