Finland, Minnesota AA Meetings

Finland is a very small unincorporated community in Crystal Bay and Beaver Bay townships, Lake County, in the US state of Minnesota. Alcoholics Anonymous meetings provide a measure of support for persons who are affected by substance use disorders. There are organized meetings supported by AA that are managed by previous members. Their support mechanism seeks to refer persons with substance use disorders to the various rehab centers for further treatments as needed. At the AA meetings in Finland, the 12-step approach is utilized along with referrals for external rehab programs. The AA Minnesota meetings are led by previous members who have wholeheartedly volunteered their time and efforts in assisting the members. Open and closed meetings are encouraged at AA meetings in Finland. At the open meetings, members are encouraged to invite people who will support them. At closed meetings, only the members are allowed. There are large and small-sized meetings, women’s only and men’s only meetings, along with spiritual offerings. Alcohol addiction can be a lifelong journey, and certain illnesses can occur as a result of this issue, such as cancers, liver disease, heart disease, stroke. Because of the risks, persons are encouraged to seek assistance urgently and members are encouraged to stay with the various treatments over the long term.
