Coos Bay, Oregon AA Meetings
Alcoholics Anonymous is what is considered a mutual support group; it offers group meetings and a “sober support” network consisting of other members from that group. AA helps people recover from alcohol-related problems using this sober support system. Members who attend AA choose a sponsor from the other members who have remained sober for a long period. This sponsor offers up additional encouragement and support to the member while promoting accountability. They also help the member go through the twelve-step program, a set of guidelines used by AA that helps their members let go of the need to drink. Support groups like AA are effective in reducing the number of relapses a person might experience, however, due to the anonymous nature of this organization, it is hard to determine just how effective they are. AA is a widespread organization, operating in almost all parts of the US. Chapters of AA can be found in Coos Bay, a city in Coos County that borders North Bend and is located midway between San Francisco and Seattle on Oregon’s south coast. Looking for AA meetings in Coos Bay is as easy as visiting the website. Visit an AA Oregon chapter now and get sober with AA.
