Ridgeland, South Carolina AA Meetings

Ridgeland is a city in Beaufort County and Jasper County. There are AA meetings in Ridgeland that, along with other AA meetings in South Carolina, provide a support system for locals with alcohol use disorder. Founded in 1935 by Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith, AA had its humble beginnings in Akron, Ohio. Now, AA is known as arguably the biggest name in recovery. Its longevity has a lot to do with that but it is also known because of the famous 12 Steps of AA. Even people who have never attended an AA meeting might be pretty familiar with the 12 steps. They provide a roadmap towards recovery that people have been using for years. As part of, as members say, “working the steps,” individuals have to take a look at themselves and give up their flaws and the things they can’t control to a higher power. It is up to the member to define that higher power for themselves. Some of the steps are very intensive and it suggested that members work closely with their sponsor and other members to get through them.
