AA or Alcoholics Anonymous is a global fellowship that was founded by Dr. Bob Smith and Bill Wilson in the 1930s. The men, who overcame alcohol addiction, created the program with the objective of helping other people do the same. The popular 12 Steps process was later developed to govern its meetings. The 12 Traditions came after to bolster the purpose of AA. These steps encourage accountability and responsibility from its members. Holding themselves accountable will lead them to admit that they have a drinking problem. At AA meetings members and attendees openly share their personal alcohol addiction experiences.
