Hancock County, West Virginia AA Meetings
There are several AA meetings in Hancock County. There are also West Virginia Alcoholic Anonymous meetings in surrounding areas. AA meetings are designed to support members of the community with alcohol use disorder. The program revolves heavily on the 12-step model, which is a process of self-discovery and peer support. In meetings a speaker will often address the group and discuss their experiences with alcohol use disorder. The facilitator will then ask the group to share their own experiences and comments. The speaker will typically be a person with extended sobriety, but the audience is open to all AA members, regardless of their level of sobriety.
