Types of AA Meetings
Men: In Kentucky, men of all ages who are impacted by alcohol use disorder can enroll in a free 12 Step Program at an AA center. Select AA centers are designated only for men, and members concentrate on issues relating to men’s health and recovery.
Newcomer: AA newcomer meetings in Kentucky help those new to the program learn more about what it’s about and what the 12 step recovery model entails. The discussions are usually led by experienced members who can share their insights and offer encouragement.
Wheelchair Access: In Kentucky, AA centers may provide wheelchair access for non-ambulatory clients. Access may include ramps, designated parking spaces, and a safe layout for meeting halls, restrooms, and other amenities.
Wheelchair-Accessible Bathroom: Selected AA centers offer wheelchair-accessible bathrooms for participants. These bathrooms have enough space for a wheelchair to safely navigate, and can include private stalls with guardrails, reachable toilet paper and seat cover dispensers, a wash basin, and other amenities.
