Types of AA Meetings
As Bill Sees It: As Bill Sees It is a collection of essays and reflections from AA’s founder, Bill W., about the organization and its purpose. The book is often referenced in AA meetings to encourage members to individually and collectively discuss their recovery.
Closed: Closed AA meetings in Hawaii are restricted to members of AA and anyone who has a drinking problem and wants to find help. The discussions are informal and everyone is encouraged to participate. Newcomers can benefit from these meetings as they ask questions and learn from members who have been sober for extended periods.
Women: Hawaii AA meetings for women are women-centered peer support meetings for community members who are affected by alcohol addiction. These meetings use a 12-step recovery curriculum and are open to women of all ages at no charge, including women who are addicted to alcohol and women who have loved ones with alcohol addiction.
