Beaver Dam, Kentucky AA Meetings

Named for the Beaver Dam Baptist Church, which predates the town by several decades, Beaver Dam is a home rule-class city in Ohio County, Kentucky. There are several residents of the city who have alcohol dependence. Frequent, uncontrolled alcohol consumption will eventually lead to what is considered “problem drinking.” The term “problem drinking“ is when an individual starts experiencing the negative effects of drinking too much alcohol. This is considered the third stage of alcohol addiction following the experimental and increased consumption stages. In stage three a drinker may become depressed, anxious, and develop sleeping disorders. They may become ill from over consuming alcohol, but enjoy the pleasures gained too much to stop. Most people at this stage of alcohol addiction are more prone to suffer serious consequences such as illness or behave inappropriately like drinking and driving or getting into unnecessary physician altercations. On top of physical and psychological effects, there are also social effects related to “problem drinking,” such as damaged personal and professional relationships, decreased social activity, erratic behavior, difficulties conversing with strangers, and more. If you reside in Beaver Dam and feel like your drinking has become a problem, you can address it by attending AA meetings in Beaver Dam. Info for these meetings can be found on alcoholicsanonymous.com among a group of AA meetings in Kentucky.
