Weedsport is a town in the Cayuga County of New York State. The city is one of the smallest in the county, and it got its name from Edward and Elihu Weed – two prominent merchants who played significant roles in its development. Weedsport is located in the western part of Syracuse, and it used to be a notable port on the Erie Canal.
