Ironton, Ohio AA Meetings

The city of Ironton, a contraction of “iron town,” has a long history with the iron industry also had one of the first professional football teams in America. However, the community in and the county seat of Lawrence County, Ohio, also has a history of alcohol addiction. To offer assistance to locals of the area who are dealing with this debilitating disease, the town has Alcoholics Anonymous Ohio AA meetings in Ironton set up inside the community. Alcoholics Anonymous or AA is a fellowship of males and females that provides support to people who are struggling with a dependency on alcohol. These individuals meet each day for one hour where they share their addiction experiences and discuss topics surrounding alcohol addiction. A desire to stop drinking is the only prerequisite for entry into AA meetings. There are no dues or fees associated with becoming a member of AA. It is independent and is run by its own contributions. AA is not associated with any type of organization, religion, ideology, or political party. It does not want to participate in any sort of controversy, neither does it recommends nor opposes any causes. Its primary purpose is to assist its participants to overcome alcohol addiction, become sober once again, as well as help them preserve sobriety for a long time.
