Happy Valley, Oregon AA Meetings

Developing Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) involves the use of alcohol in a toxic manner that includes health and mental problems, not to mention strained relationships within the family and community, and economic issues. Different risk factors can lead to Alcohol Use Disorder that includes but is not limited to steady consumption of alcohol over some time, drinking at an earlier age than advised, family history with AUD, and mental health problems including depression. Many short-term and long-term complications can arise from the misuse of alcohol. Reduced cognitive responses while under the influence of alcohol can cause vehicular accidents, reduced performance, committing unlawful acts, and engaging in unwanted sexual interactions. Health issues like heart and liver disease, digestive problems, complications during pregnancy, and many more others are also common. With all these problems that arise from AUD, societies like AA Oregon find that it is important to help members of the community that are affected recover as soon as possible. Research has shown that members involved in Alcoholics Anonymous have shown great success and that continued participation can help members avoid the risk of relapse in many cases. Any member of the community that feels like AA can be helpful for them is welcome to attend AA meetings in Happy Valley.
