Vienna, West Virginia AA Meetings
The city of Vienna, which is situated along the Ohio River, is located in Wood County, West Virginia. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) was established in 1935 when two alcohol addiction patients found that mutual support and peer encouragement facilitated their recovery. Since then, AA has helped several members around the world recover from AUD. In their desire to reach more locals, the West Virginia Alcoholics Anonymous community has set up AA meetings in Vienna. In these meetings, members are exposed to the care, support, and guidance of persons familiar with the AUD recovery process and committed to helping each other stay sober. A major tool used to achieve this is the 12-steps program. The 12-steps are a self-help initiative that urges participants to seek external help, make restitution for their past mistakes, and strive to help other members in whatever way they can. AA meetings in Vienna also have a mentorship feature called sponsorship. In sponsorship, a new member’s recovery progress is monitored and mentored by a more experienced member so that the new participant becomes accountable to the process. You can join the AA community today by walking into any of the meetings listed in the directory published on this site.
