Alcoholics Anonymous is fellowship of people receiving treatment for alcohol use disorder. AUD is a medical condition where one finds it difficult to control the amount of alcohol consumed. There are many risk factors that can increase a person’s chance of needing treatment for AUD. The very common one is consuming too much alcohol on a regular basis. The increase in tolerance due to repeated drinking can also increase the amount of alcohol drank over time. Another factor is an early start to drinking. Studies have shown that people who start drinking at the age of 15 have more than five times as many chances to be diagnosed with AUD than people who started later in life. Family history can also contribute to the likelihood of having AUD. These and much more, alone or in combination with each other, can increase the possibility of AUD. AA is here to show you that you are not alone in this. AA works in different states all over the United States. One of them is Colorado.
