Evans, Georgia AA Meetings
Evans is a census-designated place (CDP) in Columbia County, Georgia. The suburb of Augusta has several residents who are living there that are suffering from alcohol use disorder. Alcohol use disorder, or AUD, is a clinical condition where individuals struggle to properly manage their alcohol intake. The threat of an individual developing AUD depends on how much and how often they drink. Heavy and frequent alcohol use over time increases the risk of AUD. There are several evidence-based treatment options for AUD to choose from. However, there is not a one size fits all treatment approach to reversing AUD. Therapy can be outpatient or inpatient or a combination of both. A mix of behavioral treatments and/or mutual-support groups is considered to be the most effective approach. The most preferred and most effective mutual-support group is Alcoholics Anonymous, or AA. AA provides strong peer assistance for individuals who have an alcohol dependency. Its one-hour long counseling sessions, called AA meetings, provide a platform for people who are seeking help for alcohol addiction to share their experiences with, and opinion on topics surrounding the disease. Residents of Evans with an alcohol dependency will get plenty of opportunities to do so by participating in AA meetings in Evans. Information on these meetings can be found among a group of AA meetings Georgia on alcoholicsanonymous.com.
