Beattyville, Kentucky AA Meetings
Named for pioneer settler Samuel Beatty, Beattyville is a home rule-class city in Lee County, Kentucky. Formally established by the state assembly as “Beatty” in 1851 Beattyville was incorporated in 1872. A portion of its populace is struggling with alcoholism. Alcoholism occurs when an individual consumes alcohol exceedingly over a prolonged period of time. The more and longer an individual drinks, the higher the chances of them developing alcohol use disorder. Alcohol use disorder, or AUD, is the more common term for alcoholism. Compared to moderate drinkers, there is usually a considerable extra psychological and emotional attachment to alcohol for a routine drinker. A modest drinker will consume alcohol occasionally, while a frequent drinker uses alcohol routinely to gain pleasure or as a coping mechanism. Typically, as an individual increases their alcohol consumption, ultimately they will end up becoming reliant on alcohol. This dependence will put them at risk of developing alcohol addiction.
