Butler, Ohio AA Meetings
The village in Richland County, Ohio has a tiny population of around a thousand residents. Despite its small size, the village has a history of alcohol addiction. To provide assistance to members of the community who are struggling with alcohol addiction the village has Alcoholics Anonymous meeting points set up. Alcoholics Anonymous is a global support group that has been helping people around the globe overcome alcohol addiction since the 1930s when it was founded. Its meetings provide opportunities for men and women to share their addiction experiences with other participants with similar drinking issues. AA meetings are free to attend. The only criterion for entry is a desire to stop drinking. It is also self-supporting and is run by its own donations. Though it encourages its members to strive for a spiritual transformation through prayer and meditation, AA is not a religious organization. It is also not political and does not discriminate against anyone for their race, gender, social or economic status. It also does not support or condemn any political or social philosophies. Its primary goal is to help its participants overcome alcohol abuse, become sober again, and help to sustain sobriety for a long time.
