Genoa, Ohio AA Meetings

Originally settled as Stony Ridge, Genoa was renamed in 1856 and incorporated as a village in 1868. Located in Ottawa County, Ohio, the village has a number of its residents who are struggling with an addiction to alcohol. To provide peer support to these residents, Alcoholics Anonymous meeting points have been established inside the community. Alcoholics Anonymous or AA has become the gold standard support therapy for almost all sorts of dependency. Recovery programs such as Debtors Anonymous, Drug Anonymous, and Narcotics Anonymous have all replicated it in their own way. Though it is one of the leading treatment alternatives for alcohol addiction, AA does not deny or compete with medicine or psychiatry. Members can receive psychiatric therapy, professional counseling, as well as take medications while going through the AA program. In fact, the majority of mental health and wellness specialists refer their patients to AA. They even use AA’s 12-Steps concepts or incorporate 12-Steps therapy in their therapy programs. This method is called 12-Steps assistance. With over 100,000 groups as well as over one million members from more than 150 countries worldwide, AA continues to expand. It is run by senior members who overcame alcohol addiction and remained sober for a long period of time. These senior members have a strong desire to help younger members achieve long-lasting sobriety. AlcoholicsAnonymous.com groups all Alcoholics Anonymous Ohio including AA meetings in Genoa.
