Kershaw, South Carolina AA Meetings
Kershaw is a relatively small town in South Carolina’s Lancaster County region. Due to the population size, there aren’t very many AA meetings in Kershaw. However, there are several other AA meetings in South Carolina that residents can attend. The History of AA traces its origins back to 1935, when Dr. Robert Smith and Bill Wilson founded the organization. The original goal of AA was to provide a solution to AUD. The founders’ mission was to support those with AUD in their recovery journey and help them build relationships with their peers. Since then, the organization has become a global phenomenon, with meetings in more than 180 countries. AA’s founding principles were revolutionary. It challenged the conventionalities of certain organizational structures. They placed emphasis on traditions and local autonomy, and eschewed central authority. They also avoided such practices as property ownership and soliciting outside influences. Although AA is not a religious organization or medical organization, it is the largest international recovery organization. In the late 1960s, the organization expanded beyond its American borders and became truly international. You can find listings of AA meetings in Kershaw in this directory.
