Wamego is a city in Pottawatomie County, Kansas. A portion of the city’s population is suffering from alcohol use disorder. Alcohol use disorder, or AUD, develops when an individual drinks heavily and consistently to the point where chemical changes occur in their brain. These changes heighten the pleasurable feelings when drinking alcohol, which will then lead to the individual wanting to drink more, despite suffering from its adverse effects.
