Alcohol use disorder(AUD) is a problem affecting most adults the age of 18-29, but it can also affect an individual of any age if they have been using alcohol for a long time. AUD is at its lowest among ages 65 and older but there are occasions such individuals are affected as well. This goes to show that alcohol use disorder can happen to anyone regardless of age, and neither does it discriminate between gender, race, religion ethnicity, etc. Alcohol use disorder is a problematic pattern of excessive drinking that leads to psychological, health, and other problems to an individual. Once the person is affected by it they will have little to no control over their drinking. Some symptoms that are exhibited by someone suffering from AUD are constantly having the urge to drink, trying but failing to stop or control their drinking, coming up with any excuse to drink, and continuing to drink even when it has clear signs of damage in the individual’s health and personal life.
