The city of Farmington, Illinois is in Fulton County, and is part of both the wider Peoria Consolidated Statistical Area and the Canton Micropolitan Area. AA meetings in Farmington are available in a range of different meeting types to serve the different recovery needs of people with alcohol use disorder in this area. AA meetings Illinois have been around for nearly 90 years, but they have not stayed the same in all that time. Today there are LGBTQ+ friendly meetings, men- or women-only meetings, meditation meetings, discussion topic meetings, and more, in addition to the traditional 12-steps Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. AA is aware that not all people will respond to the original ideas of AA’s “Big Book,” and so they now offer alternatives. However, what remains consistent is the way that these free meetings allow individuals in recovery to connect to a community that intimately understands the ups and downs of alcohol addiction recovery.
