Dundalk, Maryland AA Meetings
Named after the Irish town of Dundalk, Dundalk, a census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland, is considered one of the first inner-ring suburbs of Baltimore. Some of the unincorporated community’s residents are struggling with alcohol addiction. There are a plethora of reasons people develop alcohol dependence. One of the most common is trauma. According to alcohol addiction treatment professionals, the vast majority of people with alcohol dependency are dealing with some type of trauma. For many, treating unresolved trauma is the key to a full recovery. Although there are several other treatments for alcohol addiction, this is where Alcoholics Anonymous excels. Through its meetings, called AA meetings, the group support organization helps its members discover the underlying reasons for their addiction. AA meetings provide a platform for people with alcohol dependency to receive support from other attendees with similar addiction struggles, as well as guidance from senior members who attained long-term sobriety with the help of the AA program. Through sharing addiction stories and discussing topics about the disease with others significantly bolsters the chances of members’ fully recovering from alcohol addiction.
