Many people are affected by AUD these days all around the world. Alcohol use disorder has always been an issue and there has been methods to help combat these problems, one of these methods being organizing AA meetings. NY AA meetings are held all over the state, there are many types of AA meetings catering to different types of people and to help make it as comfortable for the individuals as possible. There are LGBT friendly meetings, gender specific meetings as well as closed meetings that are more comfortable for those who wish to remain anonymous through and through. AUD ranges from mild to severe depending on the level of alcohol intake and the damage it does to the person’s life, both physically and mentally. When an individual feels like their alcohol use is getting out of hand, the recommended measure is to attend these meetings and see how things are and eventually speak up to share their story, gradually but surely they will be able to stop drinking for good. This is a long process and going to meetings should be continuous as it will help the individual stay on track in difficult times because they would be surrounded by people who support them and help them continue on the path of sobriety.
