Keene Valley, New York AA Meetings
Known as “The Home of the High Peaks” the hamlet of Keene Valley in New York is surrounded by some of the most stunning and highest mountains east of the Rockies. It has the greatest number of high peaks in one region but also has people who are addicted to alcohol living there. People who are addicted to alcohol drink it compulsively and struggle to control how much they consume. Repeated overconsumption can lead to several harmful ramifications both mental and physical. These include anxiety, irritability, stress, and even depression on the mental side and liver, kidney failure, and even brain damage on the physical side. There are multiple treatment methods for alcohol addiction including detox to manage withdrawal symptoms and cravings and behavioral therapies. Support therapies like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings provide a source of fellowship for people who are struggling with alcohol addiction to gain much-needed support. AA meetings usually feature discussions about alcoholism amongst attendees that can provide valuable insight to members.
