Shandaken, New York AA Meetings
AA meetings offer the best support for those who are trying to stop drinking. Excessive drinking leads to a disorder called alcohol use disorder. AA meetings in Shandaken are organized by a group of individuals who are there to support each other stay sober. They will provide support and guidance during a fellow member’s difficult times. This can happen by older members sharing their own experiences and the struggles they went through in the past. Since sobriety is a hard thing to accomplish there is no doubt there will be times where relapse happens and these NY AA meetings are there to guide members back into sobriety. Since most older members have gone through many of the struggles the newcomers might be going through, they will be available to help keep them on track by sharing their past struggles with staying sober. These meetings come in different types depending on how the meeting is going to go. One type of meeting could be beginner level meetings, these type of meetings are headed by more experienced members and they start by introducing some tools to utilize to gain sobriety for newcomers as well as getting to know the new members and making them feel safe.
