Mexico, Maine AA Meetings
Not to be confused with the country to the south, Mexico is a town in Maine’s Oxford County. With a modest population, AA meetings in Mexico might not be as plentiful as they are in large cities. However, with other options for AA meetings in Maine, you should be able to find the support AA can provide to those with alcohol use disorder. One of the staple features of these meetings is the sharing. While you are certainly not forced to share, you are highly encouraged as it is an underlying principle of the famous 12 Steps of AA. It is believed that sharing in AA meetings can greatly benefit the sharer, giving them the opportunity to vent things they might be otherwise bottling up. They also gain a fresh perspective on issues that may have been haunting them for some time. Sharing is not just beneficial to the sharer. It also helps the listeners who are able to learn from other’s experiences or even commiserate with people who have faced the same types of problems.
