Brewster, New York AA Meetings

The most densely populated portion of the Putnam county, Brewster was named after two early farmer landowners, Walter Brewster who invited the New York and Harlem Railroad to build a depot on their property. As is the case with other counties in New York and other states in America, Brewster has people from its community who are battling alcohol addiction. Alcohol use disorder (AUD), the medical term for alcohol addiction, is characterized by an individual’s inability to control their alcohol consumption. An over-dependence on alcohol usually results in adverse ramifications from physical, emotional, and social, issues to financial problems. This makes AUD one of the most problematic health issues in America. Therapeutic treatment such as Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings provide people who are dependent on alcohol with knowledge and insights that help in overcoming AUD. Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings are not aligned with any organization, political arm, or religion nor wishes to endorse or oppose any causes. Its main purpose is to help alcoholic dependents achieve sobriety. They provide opportunities to meet and interact with other people who are dealing with similar issues surrounding addiction to alcohol. People from the community can find AA meetings in Brewster and NY AA meetings from other cities in the state.
