Buchanan, New York AA Meetings
Home of the Indian Point nuclear power facility and the 2000 Rockefeller Center Christmas tree, Buchanan is a village in the town of Cortlandt in Westchester County, New York. As with many other towns in the United States of America, Buchanan has its own residents who struggle with alcohol addiction. Alcohol addiction or alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a chronic relapsing brain disorder characterized by an individual’s inability to control their alcohol consumption. In its more advanced stages, people who are unable to quit drinking suffer from adverse consequences such as significant health, physical, emotional, social, occupational, financial issues. Detox medications are usually prescribed to curb alcohol withdrawal symptoms and cravings. Behavioral therapies are also one of the key medical treatments for AUD.
