Lebanon, Connecticut AA Meetings

Lebanon, a town found in New London, is best known for its farming and agricultural lands and is also known for the role it played in the American Revolution when it was the base of operations. Many residents of this area struggle with substance and alcohol use disorders. To assist with this, AA meetings in Lebanon have set up opportunities to help people take control of their issues and help people who want to stop drinking. AA meetings CT have recognized that AUD affects everyone differently and therefore tailors meetings to the needs of individuals. Drinking has a different impact on certain people and the likelihood of it leading to alcohol use disorder could be significantly higher for some people. This is because it affects each body based on genetics, psychological states, and environmental and social factors. AUD is defined as drinking that causes harm and distress with an inability to stop even when there are adverse effects. Alcoholics Anonymous is a support group offering group support sessions. Some people attending AA will have a sponsor- a person who has been sober for a while and is strong in their sobriety. A sponsor can help offer more support to new members with alcohol addiction by checking up on them and making sure they attend the meetings and go through the 12 step program even if there are setbacks. Recognition of this in yourself or your loved ones allows people to seek help as the first step to recovery.
