AA meetings CT has been making a lot of progress by providing a place where people can learn from each other and find new and engaging ways to help offer support. Alcohol use disorder is a medical condition that can be caused by drinking at an early age, genetics and family history of alcohol use, mental health conditions, and/or a history of trauma. AUD is characterized by the inability to stop or control alcohol use despite adverse social, occupational, or health consequences. Alcoholics Anonymous has different support groups to help people with different aspects of the disorder. Big Book meetings allow people to work from AA’s primary text, while speaker meetings allow people to listen to a speaker share about their experience with alcohol use and becoming sober. There are also meditation meetings, candlelight meetings, or women’s only or men’s only meetings. There is a meeting that is available and waiting to support you or a loved one on the journey to becoming sober.
