Carbon County, Pennsylvania AA Meetings
Home of the first large-scale railroad in the United States, Carbon County, Pennsylvania, was established around coal mining. In recent years the county has experienced growth and more residents who share the symptoms of alcohol use disorder (AUD). Those looking for Carbon County Alcoholics Anonymous meetings may use our online directory to find those nearby. The Alcoholics Anonymous fellowship has been helping those with AUD learn to live fulfilling and successful lives without using alcohol since the 1930s and continues to be the leader in recovery group support. A range of meetings includes men-only or women-only meetings, 12-step meetings, LGBT meetings, and more. AA membership is free of charge, and the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking. Though meeting formats vary, most meetings devote a large portion of time to member sharing. They share their recovery stories, especially what’s working for them and the hope they have for a full recovery. Sharing may seem intimidating at first, but it’s not mandatory, and members may wait to share until they feel comfortable doing so. When joining meetings of AA Pennsylvania, you’ll find a group of similar-minded folks who will welcome you and walk the recovery path with you. Depending on the severity of AUD symptoms and the amount of alcohol consumption, some people must participate in a formal rehab process for their recovery to be effective. To learn more about available treatment programs, please call our helpline for a confidential conversation with a specialist who can guide you to the information you need.
