Gray, Maine AA Meetings

Gray is a city in Cumberland County, Maine. There are options for AA meetings in Gray for anybody in or around the city hoping to get guidance and support with alcohol use disorder. Established in 1935, AA was founded in Akron, Ohio by Bill Wilson, often referred to in AA meetings in Maine and elsewhere as “Bill W,” and Dr. Bob Smith, or “Dr. Bob.” AA is a non-professional support group for those with alcohol use disorder and is not a substitute for formal rehab and therapy. In fact, AA can be a helpful supplement to formal rehab options. AA is entirely self-supporting through member contributions and does not charge membership dues or fees. AA is non-discriminatory and is multiracial, open to all genders and gender identifications, religious beliefs, and political affiliations. The only membership requirement is the desire to stop alcohol use. AA is known for its 12-step program which starts with the important first step of the individual admitting they have alcohol use disorder. These 12 steps are very spiritually driven, but it is important to remember that AA is not affiliated with any specific religion or belief, and many non-religious people have benefited from AA over the years. You can call our specialists today for help with finding formal rehab options outside of AA meetings in Gray.
