Lewiston, Maine AA Meetings
Located in Androscoggin County, Lewiston is one of the largest cities in all of Maine. With the relatively large population it’s understandable that there are quite a few AA meetings in Lewiston. These meetings, like all AA meetings in Maine, provide opportunities for those with alcohol use disorder to gather as they support and learn from each other. One of the more popular types of meetings are the Beginners as they give newcomers to AA a chance to learn more about AA with a mix of members who have been in AA for some time, and other newcomers. Attendees of Beginners meetings can expect to be introduced to some of the basics of AA. This includes, in no small part, the 12 Steps of AA as well as the 12 Traditions of AA. You can also expect the opportunity to share in the Beginners meeting, but know that this is just an opportunity and not a requirement. Integrating yourself within the AA meetings in Lewiston and the peer-driven community that holds them can seem intimidating at first, but attending a Beginners meeting could be a great way to ease yourself in.
