Dutchess County, New York AA Meetings

Dutchess County is one of New York’s first twelve established counties, located in the Hudson Valley. Alcoholics Anonymous NY offers a wide range of AA meetings in Dutchess County. AA is an addiction recovery program that involves action steps to help you recover from alcohol addiction, which include attending meetings, joining a home group (a group you can regularly participate in to establish a stable support network), getting a sponsor, working the 12-Step program, and doing service work.

Once you locate a meeting you like you can declare it your home group. An AA sponsor is a mentor that helps you work the 12 Steps. Sponsors are available at any Alcoholics Anonymous group you attend. After you get a sponsor and have worked the Steps, the next phase of AA’s recovery program is to get involved in services work. Service work is anything you do directly or indirectly to help newcomers. This could include something as simple as setting up chairs or making coffee, or it could involve chairing a meeting, telling your recovery story at a speaker meeting, or volunteering to be a sponsor.

If you feel you may need a more structured addiction treatment program than AA can provide, contact our helpline today and talk to an addiction specialist about inpatient or outpatient rehab facilities in Dutchess County.
